Summer of Service is a community effort. SOS brings together Michiana area youth and volunteers to serve our great community. Restaurants allow SOS to have fundraiser nights and we partner with local businesses and organizations for service projects. [more partnerships]
During SOS Student Weekend, we host block parties and car washes, we visit nursing homes, fix up homes, clean up parks, serve meals, paint murals and more. We are always looking for ways to serve in our community as well as building relationships.
SOS Student Weekend unites us as one. This collaboration takes place each summer, it’s our hope that by launching students/volunteers/churches on this mission, the SOS movement continues all year around. With such a strong vision being cast, out of the weekend comes amazing stories, God sightings, and involvement.
Experiences that need to be shared.
God sightings that provide affirmation of faith.
Involvement that continues to grow in a multitude of ways.
By launching this Summer of Service blog, it is our desire to share the SOS experience all year around. We want YOU involved. We want our community to feel and be a part of the effort. Community is essential. It’s part of the way we were wired and created. We plan to share information, stories, God sightings, and spotlight supporters who have long made it possible for SOS to continue.
2017 will be our BIG decade celebration, so it’s about time!
